Cost, Session Dates :

PLEASE SEE THE PRACTICE PAGE FOR SESSION TIMES AND LOCATIONS.

Full Payment is due at time of registration.

New Member Trial Period: All new swimmers (swimmers who have never been a member of UNAC) have a two week trial period. A new swimmer may attend the first two weeks of their first session without liability. If, during the two week trial period, the swimmer withdraws from the session, the full session fee will be refunded

Cost: All fees are payable at time of registration (See Below). Costs include Registration and Session Fees. Registration fee includes USA-Swimming insurance fee and Winter Championship registration fee. Session fees may be paid per session or by reduced annual payment. Additional costs may be applicable for non-STSL swim meets. NON-STSL meet costs are usually $10 - $20 per meet depending upon the number of events swimmer enters. Swimmers are encouraged to attend all STSL and non-STSL meets. If annual membership fee payment is chosen, payment must be made in full at time of registration. Payment is non-refundable unless approved by the UNAC Board. All requests for refund must be in writing and state reason(s) for request. (Examples: extended injury, extended illness, moving out of town...)

Outreach Program: Families requiring financial assistance: A 50% discount on session fees will be allowed to families that provide acceptable proof of need. (plus $10 registration fee. *) Outreach applications must be approved by the UNAC Board or President.

Outreach is a program instituted by USA-S and Niagara.  Eligibility for the Outreach program is set by USA-S and Niagara (see attachment).  If a family meets ANY of the criteria in EITHER Part A OR Part B and submits the required documentation then admittance to the Outreach program along with fee reductions is automatic and according to UNAC Policy P004 the Membership Chairman must charge the reduced rates pending approval by USA-S.  Approval of Outreach is not in the judgment of UNAC or its Board of Directors.  It occurs by virtue of Niagara and USA-S issuing the athlete’s membership card.  It is only necessary for the Board to approve fee reduction beyond the level provided by Outreach (reference section 3.5 of UNAC policy P003).

Multiple Swimmer Discount: 20% discount after first swimmer. Discount is taken on equal or the lower of fees.

Modified/Varsity Swimmers: A 50% discount is available for current Modified/Varsity swimmers during their scholastic swimming season.  For example, a swimmer in the Advanced group that is also swimming on the Varsity team during the Fall session would pay $112 (50% of $224) for this 14 week session.  This would entitle the swimmer to attend the entire session or any fraction thereof for the discounted rate.

Swim Meets

It is important to attend as many meets as possible. Meets are why swimmers swim and why coaches coach. They are fun, they build a team's identity, and are a measuring stick to watch swimmers progress in the sport. The events vary from meet to meet so there are always different events to swim.

Below is a description of the type of meets:

STSL League meets: Half-day meets at the local club pools, swimmers swim 3-4 events. There are 6 regular season league meets, a distance meet, and a championship meet. At the distance meet, the swimmers swim one event, usually the longest distance event offered for their age group. You have to attend at least 2 league meets to attend the championship meet held in February. Over the course of the season, every event is offered at least once.

Bronze Districts: A two day meet held in Lansing (outside Ithaca). A great chance for our swimmers to experience a championship format meet with preliminary events and finals for the top 12. It also is a chance to choose your events and try to qualify for the Silver and Gold meets.

Silver and Gold Niagara Meets: Time standard championship meets offered by Niagara District for those who qualify. Every swimmer making qualifying times are encouraged to attend. This is a chance to see the highest levels of competition in the Western and Central NY area.
