. Last update 11/16/09 (Alphabetical Order) Head Coach Katie Ginalski kginalski@live.com Katie started swimming with Chenango Aquatics during elementary school. She continued swimming for Chenango Forks from seventh grade through graduation. She also taught swim lessons for the school during the summer. Katie attended LeMoyne College, where she swam for four years. In 2004, Katie began teaching at Johnson City high school, which led to a position coaching girls modified swimming starting in the fall of 2007. Katie is now home during the day with her daughter, but continues to coach for Johnson City and tutor. She looks forward to working with the swimmers at UNAC. Coach Derek Rusinak Derek Rusinak started off his swimming career in elementary school with the Blessed Sacrament swim team. From there he branched off to the USS swim team Staten Island Aquatics. He then moved on to swim four varsity seasons for St. Peter's Boys High school. During the transition from elementary school to high school, he also switched club teams to Wagner Aquatic Club. During his high school career he was voted captain, qualified for the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) state team twice, received the CHSAA Coach's award twice and set numerous school records amongst receiving other awards. Derek went on to swim two seasons with the Binghamton University men's varsity swim team. Derek has coaching experience with many different age groups. He has coached for his old elementary school, and acted as a head instructor for a swim lesson program run by the head swim coach at Wagner College and his old Wagner Aquatic Club coach. As well as coaching UNAC, Derek is currently the head swim coach of Hillside Swim Club (a Staten Island summer team) that has age groups as young as 8 and under, to seniors in high school.
Coach Kristyn joins UNAC with both competitive swimming and coaching experience. She began swimming with the Rapid Arrows of the Pocono Summer Swim League in 1997, and went on to coach this same team for the Summer 2006 and Summer 2007 seasons. In addition to coaching, Kristyn also has extensive experience as a swim instructor, with a focus on early stroke development. Kristyn was a four-year member of the Blue Arrow Swim Club and also swam on her High School Varsity Team. Kristyn's collegiate swimming experience included two years on Binghamton University's Varsity Swimming and Diving Team, where she received both the Coach's Award and an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Merit Medal during the 2007 – 2008 season. Kristyn is excited to begin working with UNAC and hopes she can contribute greatly to the team. Coach Jamie started coaching with UNAC in the Fall of 2000 in what was formerly known as the
Beginner/Age Group program. Jamie has memories of swimming for as long as she can remember and also swam in high school and college. Jamie loves
being part of the UNAC team and working with the younger swimmers. Coach Jenny began swimming competitively at the ripe age of 6
years old. She drove 45 minutes to practice at least 3 days a week to
be a member of the Pueblo Swim Club in Pueblo, CO for 12 years. After
high school she swam all four years of college at Stony Brook University
on Long Island. She began her coaching career in her hometown for the
Caņon City Pirahnas and now, along with UNAC she coaches the Binghamton
University Masters Swim Team.
